Nico Espinoza (Curicó, Chile, 1986) is a composer and transdisciplinary artist currently based in Lisbon.
He is interested in the speculative cosmological agencies that might emerge from the transduction of local, technical and scaled ecological relations, transductions that are later articulated through the exploration of complex non-linear models and self-organized sonic systems.
His compositions, performances and installations have been exhibited in Latin America and Europe, and he has also designed immersive sound experiences for creative studios and institutions such as Maotik Studio, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, cactus.is and JPG.ARQ, characterized by a system-theory informed experimental practice.
He holds an M.A. in Sound Studies and Sonic Arts from the University of the Arts Berlin (UdK Berlin) and an M.Sc. in Electronics from the Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María (Valparaíso, Chile).
