Nico Espinoza (Curicó, Chile, 1986) is a sound artist currently based in Lisbon. His artwork critically explores the socio-political tensions between universal abstraction and local experience present in the contemporary discourses on cognition, ecology and technology.

He has also designed immersive sound experiences for creative studios and scientific institutions such as Champalimaud Centre for the Unknown (Lisbon, 2023), Cluster Matters of Activity of Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (Cutting research project, 2021), JPG.ARQ (Brazilian Pavilion at Expo 2020), cactus.is (Banco do Brasil Cultural Center commission, 2019).

He holds an M.A. in Sound Studies and Sonic Arts from the University of the Arts Berlin (UdK Berlin) and an M.Sc. in Electronics from the Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María (Valparaíso, Chile).
